Make Sense

Total acoustic awareness.

Single-sensor data fusion and ML-driven contact following that delivers persistent, high-fidelity situational awareness across surface and subsurface domains — at and below the threshold of detection.

Sense without limits.

Lyntris delivers acoustic contact following and sensor automation software that extracts, tracks, and characterizes contacts from a single sensor - reducing contact multiplication, improving decision quality, and enabling autonomous sensing across contested environment.

WHAT WE DO

Multi-surface acoustic contact following

Simultaneous detection, tracking, and analysis of surface and subsurface contacts across Passive Broadband, Passive Narrowband, Harmonic Sets, DEMON, Correlograms, and N/TSPED data surfaces. Composite contact following reduces contact multiplication by associating tracks across types.

ML-enhanced tracking at minimum detection levels

Machine learning applied to contact following delivers performance at and below the signal threshold where rule-based trackers fail. Delayed-decision reasoning on learned trace behavior sustains accurate tracking through high clutter and complex contact crossings without real-time performance penalties.

Signature characterization & PED support

Contact following outputs feed signature characterization workflows required for the Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) mission. Supports rapid identification of contacts of interest with manual editing extensions and steered beam processing for localization and reconstruction.

Autonomous UAS sensing

Sensor automation software enables improved perception and decision-making for autonomous underwater and unmanned systems. Addresses the Find, Fix, and Track phases of the F2T2EA kill chain across the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) mission

HOW WE DO IT

The technology underneath.

Passive acoustic contact followers (CF)

Modular contact following framework implemented across PBB, PNB, HST, DEMON, N/TSPED, and Interference Pattern data surfaces — spanning over 30 sonar arrays and 300+ array/band/type instances across the fleet. Composite CFs associate across types to suppress contact multiplication. Operationally deployed across the U.S. submarine fleet, surface fleet, and IUSS/SURTASS surveillance systems.

ML contact follower automation

Machine learning enhancements to tactical contact followers targeting improved SNR performance and robust tracking through complex crossings. Leverages delayed-decision reasoning on learned trace behavior — at MDL and in high clutter — to achieve performance gains not possible under real-time latency constraints. Supports contact/trace characterization goals across all fleet sensor types.

Deployed across the Fleet.

Acoustic Contact Following Deployed Across the U.S. Submarine Fleet

Lyntris passive acoustic contact following software is operationally deployed across the U.S. submarine fleet via the APB program, delivering persistent acoustic situational awareness on active sonar arrays throughout the fleet.

Multi-Surface Acoustic Tracking Deployed on AN/SQQ-89 and IUSS/SURTASS

Contact following software deployed on the U.S. surface fleet via ACB programs for AN/SQQ-89 and on IUSS/SURTASS surveillance systems via ASB/ICP for PMS-485 — providing multi-surface acoustic tracking across undersea surveillance infrastructure.
